Staff Leadership and Structure
“It was a relief when we did away with monthly committee meetings. Now I can participate in activities that interest me and only meet with other team members when it’s important.”
“When I went to my first congregational meeting after joining the church, I thought. ‘Where is the fighting I’ve always heard about in churches?’”
The leadership structure at Altadena Community Church has evolved through the years into an effective combination of part-time professional and dedicated lay leadership. A Board of Administration comprised of each Ministry Team leader, at-large members and Church Officers- (Moderator, Vice-Moderator, Treasurer, and Clerk) administers the business of the church. Ministry Teams coordinating the various aspects of church life consist of Worship, Christian Education, Outreach, Congregational Life, Church Growth, and Facilities and Finance.
Professional staff supporting the lay leadership of ACC all work on less than a full-time basis and consist of a Senior Pastor, Director of Music, Office Administrator, and Facility Manager.
The church is guided by a set of written by-laws, modified in 2001, to adopt a team concept of church leadership. The combination of dedicated professionals and volunteers has created a streamlined organizational structure that effectively serves the community and membership of Altadena Community Church.
